You asked how to “flush” coolant which takes a little work but does a better job than simply draining the radiator. Buy an inexpensive Peak or Prestone flushing T Kit and install it on the drain side of the heater core hose. This hose is easy to pick out as it’s the opposite one that connects the water-pump to the heater core. You’ll need a large plastic drain pan to catch the old coolant. Open the petcock on the bottom of the radiator and any type of drain fittings in the cylinder block. You may have to ask your Ford dealer where these drain fittings are or buy a Chilton’s of Haynes manual. Snap the flushing elbow into the radiator opening. It helps if you buy a 3-4 foot length of inexpensive clear vinyl hose to slide over the flushing elbow and let it drop into a 5 gallon plastic paint pail. You may have to ask your Ford dealer where these are. Hook a garden hose to the flushing T and turn the water on. Start the engine time till all the water runs crystal clear. Turn the water off a
