Can anyone briefly explain the plot of Donnie Darko, without confusing me or themselves?
I personally don’t believe that the plot can be explained briefly. There is so much symbolism in the film, religious and otherwise, that Donnie Darko is the best example (in many years) of a film being an individual experience for each viewer. Open your mind, enjoy, and take what you want from it.
