Can anyone be hypnotized?
Anyone with average or above average intelligence can be hypnotized. Hypnosis is a natural process that occurs in almost everyone from time to time. The only person who cannot be hypnotized is someone who has a physical or psychological impairment, which prevents them from relaxing and concentrating. Anyone who has the desire and motivation to use hypnosis to change their life for the better can do so. Only someone who is willing can be hypnotized. It is possible to accomplish long desired goals by using the power of the subconscious mind in hypnosis.
No. Only people who want to be hypnotized, expect to be hypnotized and can and do follow simple instructions can usually be hypnotized. That said, then yes, most ready, willing and able people can be hypnotized when they want to experience it. Different people go into hypnosis in different ways. Yes. The only people who are incapable of experiencing hypnosis are those who have suffered severe forms of brain damage. Even very small children, the mentally handicapped, and people suffering from severe psychiatric disorders are able to experience hypnosis. From time-to-time, someone will say “I can’t be hypnotized.” Not true. They simply didn’t experience what they expected when they were under hypnosis.
Yes! Anyone can be hypnotized. I get asked this question quite often, and many clients come to their first session with the idea that they cannot be hypnotized. Most believe that they are too controlling and are skeptical about allowing someone to take over their minds. They feel that they will not be able to relinquish their control to anyone, especially to a hypnotist. In answer to their questions, I let them know that they will not have to relinquish their control at all. In fact, they will be the ones in control when I do the session(s) with them. If you can daydream, yawn and/or fall asleep, you can be hypnotized. These are stages that your brain naturally goes through on a continuum basis. I use these stages to guide the client into trance. Once I explain how the brain and brain waves work the client sees that it is easy for him/her or anyone else to go into hypnosis/trance.
Most people can be easily hypnotized. Remember, however, it is your willingness to participate in the process that makes it possible. No one can force you against your will. You can block it, both consciously and unconsciously, and in that case there would be little reason to continue. Once you overcome any apprehension, through understanding the truth about hypnosis, it is a simple and enjoyable experience. You will awaken feeling more relaxed, more at ease and at peace than before going into hypnosis. In almost every case, unconscious blocking can be overcome with conditioning through several sessions, or by using one of our conditioning CD’s at home between sessions.
