Can anybody explain me about what is am that is amplitude modulation?
Adjusting the frequency (FM) or adjusting the Amplitude (AM) are two ways of inserting information into a waveform. Information can be sent in the form of small variances in either of these modulations. Radio waves are sent out with music or voice encoded in either the length or width, but any propagated wave can carry information, Television, light beams, lasers, microwaves, water waves, etc. Your voice is just Sound waves with modulations in amplitude (volume) and frequency (pitch) encoded into the wave by your vocal cords. The first amplitude modulated signal was transmitted in 1901 by a Canadian engineer named Reginald Fessenden. He took a continuous spark transmission and placed a carbon microphone in the antenna lead. The sound waves impacting on the microphone varied its resistance and in turn this varied the intensity of the transmission.
