Can anybody advise me about Venlafaxine & Quetiapine medications?
First of all if your gf has a diagnosis of schizophrenia she needs to be on her Olanzapine. This is crucial for her well being. It does have to disadvantage of weight gain but her weight can be controlled by following a strict diet with plenty of exercise. She needs a referral to a dietitian for help with this. Her suicidal mood is being aggravated by the changes she has made in her meds. There is no real and effective treatment for Schizophrenia other than meds and of them all Olanzapine is by far the best. It takes time but I have known people to resume a fully functional life with them. Despite what she says, in her best interest you must get her seen by professionals now. Don’t waste any more time thinking about what to do. It’s at times like these when schizophrenics are at their most vulnerable and are capable of extreme acts of destruction both to them selves and others.
