Can any one argument for or against evolution be enough to either confirm it or discredit it?
There is not one single argument that either proves or disproves evolution. However, there might in the future be one discovery that totally changes the view on evolution. That one discovery is not yet there, and until then, science holds the evolution theory as the most viable theory. There is no need for a scientist to have a doctorate in each and every relevant field to truely (in)validate the evolution theory. The entire field of scientists together have a combined knowledge of all these fields, and will add their personal knowledge to the collective knowledge. They will also correct the knowledge of others, and constantly (in)validate their combined knowledge. So, if someone would suggest a theory based on biological knowledge, a math scientists might disprove his claim based on incorrect mathematical statistic. This is an ongoing process of continuous improvement. It can be compared to how Wikipedia is organized. You don’t need to know everything to each and every subject in orde
