The Missouri State Archives is currently undertaking the Missouri Birth and Death Record Transcription Project. Some of the records have already been transcribed by volunteers and are available online. Only a limited number of the birth and death records are available online as many of the records have not been transcribed at this point. Go to List of Available Birth and Death Records Volunteers for the Missouri Birth and Death Record Transcription Project are provided print copies of birth and death records. The information found on these records are then transcribed and returned to the archives to be made available online. For more information about the Transcription Project or if you wish to volunteer, please contact the archives at archvol@sos.mo.gov.
