Can any give me any advice on bitches in season?
She will bleed and the amount will vary with each female, I had a girl I could barely tell she was in heat. Some will even have what is called a silent heat. You will not know they are in season. The male will try to get her by any means possible. I would keep one of them crated at all times, just to play it safe. You may want to get a pad system for her, local pet supply store should be able to help you with that. Her private area will swell and turn dark, and her nipples will enlarge and get harder. I have only been through it once, but this it what I have experienced. My girls heat lasted 5 weeks, but she comes from a line of longer seasons, and she didn’t have her first until she was over a year old. So be prepared there are some variations in the dogs just like us. Hope this helps. If you are not planning on breeding, it will cost you more to spay after a heat just an FYI.
