You can use external flashes by connecting them to the flash sync terminal of the camera using a flash sync cord. Observe the following when using an external flash: • Select the manual exposure mode. • Select a slower shutter speed than 1/200 with Super SteadyShot on, or 1/250 with Super SteadyShot off.If the shutter speed recommended on the flash is slower than that, use the recommended speed or a slower speed. (Some flashes may delay emission, and lose the volume of light) • Turn off the power of the flash before connecting the flash sync cord. • Use a flash with a flash sync voltage of 400 V or less. • You cannot use the red-eye reduction function. • Using a custom white balance setting is recommended.
