In 53 patients the antibiotics regimen was discontinued, and the double vision went away. One of the side effects of fluoroquinolones is tendon dysfunction, which if it occurs in muscles around the eyes, may cause double vision. A report on the study appeared in the September 2009 issue of Ophthalmology. • Cataracts. Cataracts may cause ghost images, usually in one eye only.
