Can another set of implants be inserted when the old set is removed?
Yes. If a woman wants to continue using Norplant, a new set of implants can be inserted when the old set is removed. The second set can be placed through the incision from which the earlier set was removed, in the same or opposite direction, or in the other arm. If a woman does not want to continue with Norplant implants and does not want to become pregnant, she should be offered another contraceptive method before she leaves the clinic.
