Can and/or should uromastyx eat crickets?

They will eat crickets willingly but that doesn’t mean you should feed them out to your uro. Crickets are alright for a reluctant eater who is underweight to try and entice them to eat, but otherwise I would not give crickets as a normal part of the diet. Maybe once every other month or so just as a treat if you feel like you must. I don’t feed any crickets at all. You don’t have to panic…a couple of crickets will not kill him. However, feeding them out over a long period of time will lead to kidney damage and can be very bad for your uro. Why chance it? Stick to dark, leafy greens, millet, dandelions, hibiscus, etc etc. Good luck!
