Can Analog TV signal be transmitted by Satellite?

0

Yes, it is possible for a satellite to transmit analog TV. However, this is a pretty impractical way to distribute television signals. First, television transmissions (from the ground) use quite a bit of power to make sure that their signal is heard by the entire “viewing area.” Using a similar amount of power in a satellite would be impossible (satellites may have 10’s of watts of available power, while ground-based transmitters have 1000’s). Second, typical satellite reception requires a directed antenna pointed toward the satellite. So, the dipole antennas used by most people to receive over-the-air TV won’t work for receiving low-power satellite signals.
