Can an unmarried mother change the babys name on the birth certificate without the fathers permission?
My son and now ex-girlfriend have a daughter recently born. He was there when she was born and his name is on the birth certificate so the baby has his last name. He took a paternity test and the results are positive. The baby’s mother has petitioned to have the baby’s last name to be changed to her last name.
