Can an RO process remove Parasites such as Bacteria and Cysts?
Because of intangibles such as system maintenance, health claims cannot be made! However, they are much too large to pass through the RO membranes. For example, the size of Giardia or Cryposporidium is about one (1) micron in size while a thin film membrane (TFM) filters down to .0001 micron in size. The TFM membranes effectively reject as high as 98 percent of those Parasites and Bacteria.
