Can an NP complete the medical form for a client who is completing an Application To Be Excused from Jury Duty due to illness?

Currently, an NP cannot complete the Application to be Excused from Jury Duty for illness purposes due to internal policy at the Department of Justice. In certain circumstances (e.g., for a patient who does not have a family physician) the Jury coordinator may accept an Application from an NP if prior approval is received first. The College is currently addressing this issue.
