Can an NP complete the Canadian Pension Plan Disability (CPPD) form?
Currently, NPs are not able to complete the Canadian Pension Plan Disability (CPPD) form which falls under Federal legislation, namely the Canada Pension Plan Act and the Canada Pension Plan Regulations (presently only physicians are able to complete this form). The CNA has opened discussions with the Federal Government concerning this matter. One of the underlying issues is that the legislated NP scope of practice differs across the different jurisdictions in Canada, particularly in regards to diagnosing.
