The grenade launcher was made for this weapon to be mounted on a rifle specific. So taking the launcher off the main support of this launcher would make control risky at best for the platform for the launcher is an M-16 you take away your platform and you will have control problems. Why would you want to?and the quetion to my mind is if the gun was broken take to the gunsmith or the maker of the launcher.
