Can An Invitational Leadership Approach (ILA) Work In Law Firms?
In brief, the next generation of corporate managers will be adopting and modifying an Invitational Leadership Approach (ILA). They will be choosing to conduct their executive business functions of visioning, motivating, and action taking in ways that are charismatic, and participatory, and produce the intangible but priceless corporate asset, trust. The question is: Can this management approach work in law firms? Trust, Necessary but not sufficient. Philosophically and empirically, trust is described as exerting an omnipresent influence on the level of success in management of firms, partnerships, and associations. It is important to note that recent studies show that trust of self, trust of others, and trust of organizations are three separate characteristics. Each must be addressed and developed on its own. An overall climate of positive trust within a workgroup is a product of time and of accumulated positive-supportive experiences at individual, group, and organizational levels. Vi
