This appears to be a fair question to obtain a history, when the examination is appropriate (see previous questions/answers). However, the question does not relieve the employer of discrimination liability an if the question is inappropriately asked as part of a pre-employment examination. Since different gloves have different formulations of material, such a question may not solve the problem.
