Can an infant be fed meals at different times than the rest of the children?
Yes, infants should be fed on cue or when hungry. Use the following as a guide to determine which meal to record. If the infant arrives in themorning: Breakfast—record the first meal the infant eats upon arrival at the center as breakfast if it contains all the required meal components and is served in the morning. Lunch—record the next meal served as lunch if it contains all the required meal components. Snack—record the third meal served as snack. If the infant arrives at or after the center’s approved lunchtime: Lunch—record the first meal served as lunch if it contains all required meal components. Snack—record the second meal served as snack. Supper—record the third meal as supper if it contains all required meal components and if the center is approved to serve suppers. If the center is not approved to serve suppers, the center will have to determine which meal to claim. The meal components do not have to be served as a unit.
