Can an indian cell phone work in the USA?what frequency is used in the USA?
Depends on WHERE in US you are planning to go. Cell phone coverage is pretty spotty in a lot of places in the US and there are places where only GSM or only CDMA networks work, if at all there is a network that is. So, the best bet would be to get hold of a quadband gsm mobile phone (e.g. most of the Nokia E series phones), preferably with built-in Wi-Fi. The quadband will ensure it will work with ANY gsm network around the globe, not just in the US. The Wi-Fi will come in handy at hot-spots where you would be able to voice-chat on gtalk/skype or even make VoIP calls.
