Can an extension be given to a level 1 teacher who has not taught in NM for 5 years?
Yes. You will need to attach a notarized statement to your renewal application stating that you have not taught in NM for 5 years. Example: If you taught for 3 of the 5 years – you can extend the level 1 license for 2 years. Upon the 5th year of teaching, you will be required to complete a dossier.
