Can an employee elect to convert their FEGLI coverage?
Yes. FEGLI coverage automatically continues for 31 days with entitlement to convert to an individual policy. The employing office must give the employee notice by using SF 2819, Notice of Conversion Privilege. Conversions must be postmarked within 31 days after the date of the termination event or within 31 days of receipt of SF 2819, whichever is later.
