Can an electrical kettle with European 220 plug be used in the U.S.?”
You can buy transformers either way…..one type to use 110V products with 220 current, and another to use 220V products with 110 current. However, you’ll need to read the packaging, because some products (hairdryers, as I recall, among others) need a different transformer because they use higher wattage than other products such as coffee pots. Thanks goodness that at least most electronic products these days can work on either voltage, so you can zip back and forth across the Atlantic and still charge your laptop and your cell phone. You only have to carry one of those multiple-choice plug adapters to make sure that the prongs on your appliance will work with the holes in the wall plug, which are different everywhere. Is there something you especially like about the Swiss electric water kettle? Prices in Switzerland are so high these days, especially with the dollar falling through the floor of the world’s currency exchanges. I would think you could buy the same sort of kettle cheaper
