Can an Athletic Trainer work in the PT setting?
Please understand that athletic trainers are regulated by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, however, the Physical Therapy Board has primary jurisdiction over the practice of, and billing for, physical therapy services. Athletic trainers can work as unlicensed supportive personnel under the continuous, on the premises, supervision of a PT in the provision of physical therapy services.
