Can an affiliate that is registered under a different 501(c)(3) from the national organization apply for SIF funding through EMCF?
Yes. However, EMCF’s investment model and funding priorities favor affiliates that apply in close collaboration with the national or parent organization. We highly recommend that all affiliates of the same national network that are interested in a SIF grant coordinate with each other and submit one application through the national or parent organization. The application should explain how all the affiliates named in the application use the same program model and meet EMCF’s eligibility criteria. Note that, although one application would be submitted, EMCF may choose to advance one or more of the affiliates named in the application to Phase 2 of our review and selection process. Advancing one affiliate of a national organization to Phase 2 does not guarantee that all affiliates named in the application will necessarily advance.
