Can ammonia store wind power?
Ammonia has the potential of being the tool that can make intermittent energy sources such as wind more reliable by “storing” wind energy in the form of NH3. Then when power is needed it is possible to release the stored energy by “burning” the NH3 in a “peaker” generation facility. The electrical generator could be powered by a diesel, turbine or in the future, a fuel cell, to create electricity when it is needed and done without creating any Co2.
