Can aluminum extrusion framed wall system be used in a galvanizing plant?
September 17, 2009 Our company is a manufacturer of translucent wall panel systems for commercial applications, and we have had an inquiry regarding an application on a galvanizing plant. My question is this: Can an aluminum-framed system be installed into this plant and not be subject to adverse chemical reactions? Typically in Europe hydrochloric acid, and often in the Americans Sulphuric. Perhaps ironically, corrosion of the building is a big issue in galvanizing plants (which of course are set up to corrosion protect steel). I would not advise any exposed aluminium anywhere inside a galv plant.
