Can air flow meter be repaired?

I had the vehicle tested and the feedback I got was that the air flow meter is faulty. I use the vehicle in Uganda where replacement air flow meters are not available. I even tried in Nairobi and they are not available there either. A local mechanic informed me that it can be repaired thus my question. The vehicle moves but jerks sometimes and I fear driving long distances as I am not sure it won’t stop somewhere far from asistance.
