Can advertising signs be displayed within highway airspace?
On-premise signs, displays, or devices may be erected on structures occupying highway airspace, but only those indicating ownership and type of on-premise activities. Any signs are subject to regulation by the STD and the FHWA for number, size, location, design, and other limitations of the MUTCD, the Highway Beautification Act (HBA) and the State-Federal sign control agreement.
