Can ActiveX be fixed?
For quite a while my answer to this was no. After all, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. After thinking about it some more, with quite a bit of work perhaps it could be fixed. If Microsoft ran ActiveX controls in what they term as a “Sandbox”, one could prevent disk writes, and other dangerous actions from taking place. I find it very unlikely that Microsoft will do this.
