Yes, she can still produce milk…but like other answers have already stated, if she keeps breastfeeding, she is robbing her embryo of much-needed nutrients. Her milk production will also decrease the further along in her pregnancy she gets. One other thing that a lot of people don’t know – the taste of breast milk will change when a woman gets pregnant due to hormones, etc. It will actually get a little bitter (instead of the normal sweet). My girlfriend who was breast-feeding got pregnant again when her daughter was 6 months old. The daughter refused to take her breast after a little while – she would spit the milk out and turn her head away. Her doctor said the daughter’s reaction was pretty common.
