After being in a interracial relationship for 22 years my experience is this People will except you for who you are if you are yourself We have lived and gone places no interacial couples were suppose to go We have shown others that by being our selfs and respecting each other and the relationship that we can go any where and do any thing It has not been a walk in the park mind you We have had our days We have had to shown some not so enlightend people that we are just that people In 22 years we have had to be the leader the example the teacher all the time being ourselfs If he loves you he will be supportive and toghether you can and will make it through anything The new generation seems to be getting it Some people still have major problem Like the lovely trooper who stopped my half black son in Kentucky for no reason The trooper who was older asked the white girl in the car if she was okay My son in uniform just returning home from a 15 month tour in Iraq asked what did you stop me
As you insinuated, love should be colorblind. I’m white & LOVE African-American women. I would love to meet & marry one. If your man TRULY loves you, then he will defend you in ALL circumstances! Love does that. To find out if he truly loves you, see how he reacts to you at work around his colleagues. If one of them harasses him about you & he laughs it off then you have a problem. If he defends you then you know that he does love you.
