Can a wall mounted air conditioner be mounted on the ceiling? They look the same!?
The internal wall mount units have a condensation drain in them which work on gravity which runs out through the wall with the interlinking pipes to the outdoor unit and drains onto the ground, Unfortunately if these units were mounted on the ceiling the condensation would simply fall out the front of the unit as the gravity drain system would not work! The ceiling mounted units (cassettes) have a system to get around this, some using drainage pumps etc.hence the price jump!
