Can a Vizsla become a Manhattanite?
I’m a freshman in highschool and plan to go to a collge in New York City. Since my mom is so attached to my cockapoo, Roxie, that she wants to keep her, I’ve been looking into other dog breeds that I could obtain in a few years. I recently found the Vizsla a worthy candidate. I would like to rescue an older puppy, about 6 months old to 1, so I can skip the house breaking phase. What I’m not sure about is if a Vizsla could transform from a country dog to a city hound with proper exercise, accomadations (apartments), and socialization to Manhattan’s diverse noises and people. I plan to walk the pup twice, once in the morning and once at night. And also a romp in central park’s many dog parks to get rid of other access energy. I hope the dog would learn to love my one floor apartment, though its halls are a bit narrow, but I have a three bed room. I’d love to know what Vizsla experts think about this energetice breed’s transition to a city life.
