Can a Video Portal appliance host media content? Why do I need a streaming server to deliver the content that I show on my Video Portal?

A. Cisco does not support any deployment of, or storage of, content files on Video Portal appliances. These appliances are not streaming servers. They are web and application servers with severely limited capacity — by design — to host media content. Each DMS deployment requires its own server to host and deliver media content, whether through HTTP, streaming, multicast, or other means.
