Can a user check-out a document for editing and notify other users who request that document that it is unavailable for editing?
Yes, using the check-in/check-out feature of the program users can check out a document. When another user requests that document a dialogue box comes up with a note from the user who has checked the document out. When a document is checked out it can be viewed but not edited until it is checked in by the editor.
