Can a Type-II diabetic patient can donate blood?

0

I’m a regular Red Cross blood donor and have been diagnosed as a type II diabetic for 7 years. My metformin is 850 mg and I take other meds as well. Everyone who donates blood to the Red Cross has to answer a long list of questions each time they do it. This takes longer than the actual blood donation. None of the questions relate to diabetes type II or metformin, but they do ask questions about injections which would probably be why type 1 diabetics could get excluded.
