It can be used in the wall if the wall is at least 6 inches deep. 10. I have a dual shower arm diverter and when I push the button to stop the water, it does not shut off all the way. Federal code does not allow complete shut-off. Consequently, it is not made to shut the water off, only slow it to a trickle. 11. What is Teflon tape, and do I need it, and where does it go? Teflon tape is a sealing utility. It can be found in hardware stores and is in the plumbing dept.
