Sorry to hear about your nightmare.The supply line should should have been changed.(about $5.00 for a braided supply line) Supply lines can often look fine on the outside because they rust from the inside. I don’t no who would be liable it depends on your contract or conversations and whether are not you ageed to reuse the old supply line. I think because it happened 8 days later it is harder to prove your case but not impossible. I just completed a renovation on a house that had a 2nd floor toilet develop a small crack and hole in the ceramic tank and the water ran for 5 days while the owners were out of state.2nd floor rugs, 1st floor Ceilings & carpets and finished basment floor walls & suspended ceiling destroyed.
