Can a Test Coordinator enable Text-to-Speech (TTS) for all students at once, rather than individually?
For 2011–2012, Text-to-Speech will be enabled for all students as the default setting in the Online HSA system for the Mathematics and Science Assessments. Students will have access to text-to-speech for test instructions, stimuli, test questions, and answer options on the Mathematics and Science Assessments. A Test Coordinator will need to disable this feature in TIDE for each student (or a Test Administrator can disable the feature in the TA Site during the approval process) if a school decides not to allow students to use this feature during a Mathematics or Science Assessment. Text-to-speech is not available for grades 3 and 4 HLIP students taking the online assessments in the Hawaiian language.
