Can a student take the Arkansas Virtual High School in lieu of summer school?
AVHS offers a summer school session. If cooperating school districts wish to use AVHS as a 4 – 5 – or 6 week summer school program with full day accelerated online study, and the course can be made available, then an arrangement can be made to conduct a summer school type class. However, since the classes are semester based, a student should take NO MORE than one semester of credit, unless deemed appropriate by the school and AVHS in allowing a student to attempt more than one class simultaneously. Please contact AVHS for determining if this scenario might work for you. The school would be responsible for providing a staff person to assist in a lab environment to help the students in navigation and ensure their work ethic.
