Can a student pursuing tertiary education survive in Australia with A1500 a month?

I live off roughly $900 Australian a month. It’s not a glamorous lifestyle (all your best clothes will come from Target and Supre) and I can’t afford to run a car (have a 50cc scooter instead) but I’m not starving and don’t ask anyone else for $ help. It takes a little budgeting to save up for school books but often these can be borrowed from the uni library and depending on the course you are doing there might be ‘scholarships’ especially for citizens if your course is for a vocation that Australia is short of ie Nursing and Teaching.
