Can a student choose a Faculty Mentor that is not listed on the Markin USRP website?

Absolutely! A student can work with a Faculty Mentor as long as he/she meets the eligibility requirements. The Faculty Mentor Online Database was created to allow students to search for Faculty Mentors who had shown interest in taking on undergraduate students for summer or fall/winter research projects. This does not mean that students must choose a Faculty Mentor from this list.
