Can a sti be picked up?
Yes an STI is an infection. When your blood is tested they test the ESR levels too and if its too high they will see that infection is present in your body, however, they many not necessarily know where the infection is! Infact, they wont, you will need to go for more tests. However, it does also depend on what they are testing for, I do believe that many STIs can be detected in your urine including chlamydia. And if they are running a lot of tests on you they will probably rule this one out too! EDIT: Not sure I agree with the other post about STIs not being detectable through urine! As I was under haemotology and they took lots of test ie bloods and urine, and they ruled out an STI from my urine! So again, yes they can tell, but it depends what tests they run on it in the first instance, however your urine will show an infection somewhere even if they dont run an STI check, and you actually have an STI!
