Can a standby generator operate for days if I experience a long power outage?
Yes! These units are generally designed for continuous duty and can operate for days without shutting them off. It is a good practice though, to turn a unit off for a short cool down period once a day if you are experiencing a prolonged outage. An hour is sufficient to “cool down” a generator.
