Can a standard microphone pick up radio signals?

0

Microphones can pick up spurious RF signals if their is an open ground in the loop or the shielding of the cable is inadequate. Microphones convert sound into electrical impulses and other electrical impulses can leak in if not shielded properly. I used to work at a TV station that also had an AM/FM transmitter for their radio station on the STL tower above the building. We fairly often had problems with defective mics picking up stray RF.
