Can a stainless steel conductor be connected with copper conductor for conductivity?
I’m a linesman for the electricity board and we frequently connect copper to aluminium with the use of bimetallic joints. The problem as people have said though, is that connecting two different metals will cause rapid corrosion. Make sure that the actual method of connection is entirely sealed from the elements. Stopping the rain from getting in will help the connection last far longer. Also make sure that the point of contact between the two metals are clean and looking bright. A bad connection will oppose the flow of current. Connections are generally the bottlenecks. Copper is a far better conductor as people have said, but connecting the two will not affect their properties, just try to avoid breaking the copper conductor if you have to connect you steel mid-way on a copper wire.
