Can a spray contractor, or consultant claim the rebate on behalf or landholders?
A20.No, the rebate is only payable to landholders. Chemical spraying contractors, agronomists, consultants, aerial sprayers etc., cannot claim the rebate. Farmers contracting or employing a third party to apply insecticide to treat locusts on their property are eligible to claim the cost of the insecticide, but not the cost of the contractor’s services. Contractors are required to provide landholders with an itemised, tax invoice, showing the cost and volume of insecticide used.
